Breeding an Appaloosa
When you breed an Appaloosa foal, foaling time as exciting as
it is anxious! What colour will it be? What coat pattern will
it have? After that, how could you go back to any other breed?
When plannning your next Appaloosa foal, make sure that the
offspring of the mare and the stallion you use will be eligible
for registration with the Appaloosa Horse Association of NZ.
Registration markedly increases the value of your horse as it
represents documented parentage, proof of age and traceable
owners, taking all of the guesswork out of a guessing business!
To check on the Appaloosa stallion's eligibility, click
here. Or, if using a stallion who is not an Appaloosa, double
check with our office before going ahead. We're always happy
to answer your questions in advance to save disappointment later
- we want to make your Appaloosa breeding experience a good
one.
You'll find more on registration requirements in our registration
section.
