Register your Appaloosa
There is no better way to secure the value of your Appaloosa than to register it with ApHANZ - New Zealand's official Appaloosa breed registry. An ApHANZ registration certificate acts as an identification card giving you proof of appearance, brands, age, parentage and compliance to breed standards.

Compete with your Appaloosa
When you’re a member of ApHANZ and you compete with a registered Appaloosa, you are eligible to enter a variety of ApHANZ Awards.
ApHANZ recognises points earned from placing’s in competition when events are run under the jurisdiction of a range of organisations.

Register your Appaloosa
Registering your Appaloosa with the Appaloosa Horse Association of New Zealand (ApHANZ) is the best way to secure the value of your horse and protect its unique place in the breed's history.
A registration certificate provides official recognition of your horse's identity, including its age, parentage, and compliance with breed standards.
It also allows you to participate in ApHANZ approved shows and competitive awards programs, and trace your horse's pedigree.
Join the proud community of registered Appaloosa owners and invest in your horse's future today!
ApHANZ offers two classifications of registration.
ApHANZ Studbook
This is the official registration for pedigree Appaloosas with verified parentage. Recording progeny and adult registration is now completed under the one step permanent registration.
Non-Studbook
This registry enables mares and geldings who are easily identifiable as having Appaloosa breeding by characteristics, coat colour or verified parentage through DNA or service certificate, but are ineligible to be registered in the ApHANZ Studbook.
A registration certificate is an official document so it's important that it is filled out truthfully, accurately and completely. Please refer to the Breed Handbook to help you identify your Appaloosa's colour, coat pattern, and markings. If you're unsure, email some photos to aphanzsecretary@outlook.com and we can give you a call.
Registration Fees:
-
One step Registration – $70
-
Duplicate registration certificate – $20.00
-
Transfer of ownership – $20.00
-
Pedigree – $20.00
